Indonesia Visa Guide 2026: What You Need to Know

Planning to visit, work, invest, or stay longer in Indonesia? Choosing the right visa is important because each visa has different rules, stay periods, and permitted activities.

Visa on Arrival

For eligible nationalities, Indonesia offers a Visa on Arrival or e-VOA. It is commonly used for tourism and short visits, with an initial stay of up to 30 days and generally one extension available.

Tourist Visa

For longer holidays, travelers may use a tourist visitor visa that allows a longer stay than VOA and can be extended depending on the visa category.

Business Visa

Business visitor visas are suitable for meetings, negotiations, exhibitions, and other business-related activities. However, they are not intended for regular employment in Indonesia.

Work & Investor KITAS

Foreign nationals who plan to work or invest in Indonesia may need an appropriate limited stay permit or KITAS. The requirements depend on the activity, sponsor, and visa category.

Visa Extensions

Some Indonesian visas can be extended, while others cannot. Always check your visa conditions and apply for an extension before your current stay permit expires.
